Ten years ago, John and Melissa Lynch founded 1-800WineShop, the parent company, with the simple desire of turning their passion for the wine country into a way of life. Their frequent trips to the famous Napa and Sonoma wine regions opened them to discover many family-owned wineries. In 1995, John and Melissa followed their dream of sharing the wine country lifestyle with family and friends by founding a national wine retail company and wine club, featuring premier quality handcrafted wines from local winemakers.

By the year 2001, 1-800WineShop had grown to include thousands of clients and club members who enjoyed high quality wines and the company's legendary annual Harvest Parties in Napa. Customers soon began asking for more local events, including in-home wine tastings. It was then, quite by accident, that the Lynches discovered a secret that was to change their company's destiny. They found that they best place to share wine and food with family and friends is in the comfort of their own homes rather than in a retail setting - no matter how posh it may be. In 2002, WineShop At Home organized its first Wine Tasting and quickly became the inspiration for the company's entry into the multi-billiion dollar direct selling industry.

The WineShop At Home direct sales division was launched to offer customers a new way of dicovering, tasting and shopping for great wines effortlessly in the comfort of their own homes. At the same time, they were helping others realize their dream of building their own successful business in the wine industry.
